The second method of recoloring is more simplified, and you may prefer it for quick color changes. This is known as Recolor. I can access the pop-up panel while my artwork is selected using the Control panel and clicking the color wheel icon. Refer to Figure 8-117.

Recolor does not worry about color harmonies though you do have access to the color libraries and can set a range of selected colors. Or limit your colors.

Use the color theme picker button when you want to select other colors out of another artwork.

Currently, all colors are active, and like you saw in the Recolor Artwork dialog box and Adobe Color, you can move the swatch sliders around or link or unlink harmony colors using the link icon. This will allow you to move the sliders more freely. There are also options to change the color order randomly or change saturation and brightness randomly. Refer to Figure 8-118.

You can also adjust your prominent colors by holding and sliding the edge of a color patch to increase/decrease weight of a color in your art though on some artwork, this change may not be noticeable. Refer to Figure 8-119.

The lower buttons allow you to show brightness and hue, or saturation and hue, on the color wheel, and you can use the slider to adjust based on the setting of either brightness or saturation. Refer to Figure 8-120.

After making changes, unlike the Recolor Artwork dialog box, here you can use the upper undo, redo, and reset buttons along with the command Edit➤Undo (Ctrl/ CMD+Z). Refer to Figure 8-121.

Use the folder to save all colors or all prominent colors to the Swatches Panel when you check the option you want from the list. Refer to Figure 8-122.

Note  The Advanced Options button will return you to the Recolor Artwork dialog box and Assign Tab which we already looked at. Refer to that section for review. Refer to this page if you need more details:
